Forney P&Z Jan. 02 approves C.U.P. for private club downtown
During the first city meeting of 2014, the Forney P&Z:
- Held a public hearing, during which no public spoke, then approved a conditional use permit allowing a private club at 213/215 S. Bois D'Arc. City Planner Morgan stated the Central Business District does allow private clubs, and the shared on-street parking in downtown is acceptable. Property owners within 200 ft were notified, there were no repsonses. Mr. Cross asked if there was a parking agreement with the FISD - Mr. Morgan said no. The members discussed the on-street parking; Mr. Morgan mentioned the Plano location only has street parking. Mr. Weatherford asked about the stop/start times - Mr. Morgan said the only cap would be normal alcohol sales hours.
The full action item was: Public hearing to discuss and consider a request for a Conditional Use Permit for a Private Club that serves alcoholic beverages together with a request for a waiver or modification under Section 34b.5.C of the Zoning Ordinance of the 300’ spacing requirement between said Private Club serving alcoholic beverages and a church, public or private school, child care center, or hospital. The request is made by Zanata Restaurant, for use at 213 and 215 S. Bois D’Arc Street, Forney, Texas. - Tabled action on approving a C.U.P. for changes the uses allowed at 315 S. Bois D'Arc, because if Chmn Dobbs recused himself, the board no longer had a quorum.

Mr. Cross inquired about the planned red-light - Mr. Morgan will check.
