Parks Board denies Use Agreement request

During its regular Dec. 20, 2017 meeting, the Forney City Park Board met and in summary:

• Denied consideration of a Use Agreement between Tony Fitzgerald and Forney for use of the Community Park softball fields and all of its facilities for 2018.
  Held a lengthy discussion with Tony Fitzgerald and audience members, then decided it was not in the best interest of local kids.
  
• Mr. Curry updated the board on the fields near the schools about to undergo expansion for intermediate schools.
  
• Re: EDC property on North side - Mr. Curry discussed the recent sale of property by the FEDC, the city should get 50 acres for parks from the Gateway development.
  
• Adjourned at 8:13 PM.
