HOZ ARB considers request on E. Church St.

During its regular Nov. 12, 2019 meeting, the Forney HOZ Architecture Review Board met to review a request for fencing and accessory building.

• Held Public Hearings -
  • Approved a request for a certificate of appropriateness, in accordance with the Historic Overlay Zone district regulations, for changes (new fence and accessory structure) to the property at 117 E. Church Street.
        Mr. Morgan said the request is for fencing and accessories, adjacent to applicant Mr. Grooms' property.   Ordinance does require buildings at rear or inconspicuous location.   Fence would be 80' long on Church St, 42" tall, does match property on Center St.   Building and fence both match property on Center and adjacent property.   Ordinance doesn't give much detail, staff views this as conforming.   No responses to public notices.   Ms. Milton can't vote due to proximity of her property.   Applicant wishes to change where the doors are on the building.
        There was no public input.
        Request was approved with changed door placement.
