HOZ ARB considers fence request on Bois d'Arc
During its regular June 24, 2019 meeting, the Forney HOZ Architecture Review Board met to:

- Approved a request for a certificate of appropriateness, in accordance with the Historic Overlay Zone district regulations, for exterior changes (new fence) to the property at 515 S. Bois D'Arc Street, "as presented."
Mr. Dixon said the new fence will be along College St, board-on-board w/ gate for driveway, will match existing fence, staff recommends approval.
Ms. Milton asked about location of fence, Mr. Dixon indicated on the drawing. Ms. Blair asked if a new property in the area would be allowed to have a fence. Ms. Milton mentioned there were no guidelines for fences; Mr. Dixon said that was correct, and fences are inconsistent in the overlay. Ms. Blair again asked if another property's fence would be approved. Mr. Cunningham said he believed there was a fence there before. Mr. Parker asked about the existing fence; Mr. Dixon said the new fence will match it. A neighbor asked about the location, there was some debate about the back fence. Mr. Cunningham believes the dilapidated back fence was replaced. It was mentioned the city just put new fencing along length of College, this fence largely matches that.
Mr. Parker said would be hard pressed to deny, considering previous fence, but he did question lack of height restrictions. Mr. Cunningham pointed out the text says 6 ft fence, the drawing does not look 6 ft.
